On this, almost the eve of the new release of the 3G iPhone, I feel as though I should plug Apple (for the iPhone, and the iPhone only).
You see, here's the deal. As you can read below my iPhone had some issues (let's ignore the cause of the issues at the moment, and just submit that mistakes were made). Well, I took the bricked iPhone to the iPod bar, at the Apple Store, and explained my problem. The guy looked at the phone, and promptly replaced it (albeit, probably, with a reconditioned iPhone, but it looks new to me). I went home. I synced it. It's as if nothing ever happened.
Who lives the iPod bar? Now, of course, while I was there I was peppering the guy with questions about 3G iPhones like: "how many are you getting?", "is there an easier way to get myself set up to have it activated in-store?", etc. He of course said: "Oh, I don't know anything about that stuff."
Oh, I'm sure he's totally in the dark.
So, hopefully on Friday it will be two new iPhones in one week! And I think I'll be hitting the AT&T store for my 3G. It's just easier than dealing with the rif-raf at the Apple Store in downtown Chicago.
